PELICAN SPA POLICIES

Pelican Spa Office – Guest Policies & Reservation Contract

Accommodations & Payments
-1-night stays: Full payment due at time of booking. NO CASH PAYMENT.

-Multi-night stays: 50% deposit required at booking.

-Remaining balance will be charged to the card on file between 9:00 AM and 2:00 PM on the day of your reservation, unless prior arrangements are made (e.g., payment via another card, cash). If we cannot reach you and no deposit is secured, your reservation may be cancelled. Credit card payments incur a 4% processing fee. Room rates are based on 2 guests per room. $15 + tax for each additional person per night (age 7 and up). No rollaway beds available.
-Room Notes: Some rooms have rustic concrete or vintage floors.
All linens are line-dried for freshness. Please notify us in advance if you prefer softer linens.

-Check-In & Check-Out: Check-In Time: 3:00 PM
To ensure a smooth check-in, please be prepared with: A government-issued ID. Your signature, acknowledging all policies. A brief guided tour of the hot mineral baths and your room.
Pet Fees at Check-In:
$100 refundable hold placed on your credit card. Refunded within 24 to 72 hours after check-out. Damages exceeding the hold amount will incur additional charges.
Nightly Pet Fees (non-refundable):
$30 for first night per pet, $20 for each additional night per pet
Maximum: 2 pets per room. Pets must be leashed and under control in all common areas.

-After-Hours Check-In: Available for pre-paid reservations.
Please call or email in advance to coordinate late check-in. All items will be ready for your arrival.

-Check-Out Time: 11:00 AM: Before leaving, please: Lock all doors securely.
Return keys to the Pelican Spa office or black mailbox at the spa gates. Lost/unreturned keys incur a minimum $20 non-refundable fee. Wash any used dishes and double-check for personal items. Take all pet belongings (toys, bowls, leashes, etc.). Dispose of pet waste properly.

-Late Check-Out Policy $10/hour until 1:00 PM.
After 1:00 PM, an additional night will be charged. Please request late check-out in advance.

-House Rules:
-No Smoking All rooms are 100% smoke-free (includes vaping, marijuana, hookahs). Smoking inside any room results in a $100 fee per night. Use designated outdoor smoking areas only.
-Quiet Hours: 9:00 PM – 8:00 AM Loud or disruptive behavior by guests or pets may result in early eviction without refund.
-No Parties: Parties are not permitted at any time.
-Clothing Policy: Clothing is optional in private hot baths only. Clothing is required in all common areas to maintain a family-friendly environment.
-Pet Guidelines: Pets must be leashed in public areas. Do not leave pets alone if they bark, whine, or create disturbances. Pet waste must be cleaned up and disposed of properly. Excessive noise or damages may result in loss of deposit or removal from property.
-Forgotten Items Policy: We are not responsible or liable for any items left behind by guests. Perishable goods and toiletries will not be retained for sanitary reasons. Non-food items will be turned in to the spa office. If identified, we will contact you. Items may be returned via USPS for a minimum $15 shipping fee. Heavier or larger items may incur additional charges.
-Garbage & Conservation Dispose of large trash in designated bins.
No recycling services available in Truth or Consequences. Please conserve energy: turn off lights, A/C, and electronics when leaving.
-Damages: Guests are financially responsible for any damage caused by themselves, their guests, or their pets.

Hot Mineral Baths – Spa Use
-General Info: Hot mineral baths are included with your stay.Open to walk-ins with payment at the front desk. Filled with pure geothermal water (104°F–112°F), untreated and odor-free. Private tub rooms include a shower and both mineral and city water access.
-Rules & Safety
Children under 18 must be supervised. Pets allowed in tub rooms, leashed and quiet, but not in the water. No lifeguard on duty – soak at your own risk. Decks may be slippery – use caution.
Prohibited in Tub Rooms:
-Soaps, shampoos, bath bombs, oils, or salts Glass containers Candles or open flames
-Health Warnings: Avoid soaking if you have; Heart conditions, pacemakers, high/low blood pressure, or diabetes Are pregnant or a small child Are under the influence of alcohol or drowsy medications Stay hydrated – water is available. Exit immediately if feeling dizzy or unwell.

Guest Acknowledgement
By signing below, I acknowledge that I have read, understand, and agree to comply with all Pelican Spa policies outlined in this document. I understand that failure to follow these rules may result in additional charges, loss of deposits, or early termination of my stay without refund. I accept full financial responsibility for any damages caused by myself, my guests, or my pets during my stay.
I further understand and agree to the following:

-I am responsible for the return of all keys issued to me; lost or unreturned keys incur a minimum $20 fee.
-I understand that all rooms are non-smoking; a $100 per night fee will be applied if smoking occurs indoors.
-I understand that quiet hours are enforced from 9:00 PM to 8:00 AM; failure to comply may result in eviction.
-I acknowledge that all pet-related fees are non-refundable, and I am liable for any additional damage caused by my pet(s).
-I understand that soaking in the mineral baths is at my own risk, and I will follow all safety rules.
-I agree to observe check-in/check-out times. Unapproved late check-out will incur extra charges.
-I understand Pelican Spa is not liable for any items left behind, and that perishables and toiletries will not be held for health reasons.

AUTO-COLLECT
At the time of booking, the first night's rate will be collected. Payment for all retail items and gift certificates will also be collected. Applies to: all reservations.


CHILDREN & PETS
Children are welcome with an accompanying adult. Children age 12 and under stay free. Pets are welcome. Pets must weigh under 100 pounds. At check-in, a $100 refundable hold will be placed on your credit card to cover potential damages; this hold will be refunded within 24 to 72 hours after check-out, provided no damages are found. If damages exceed the $100 hold, additional charges will apply. In addition to the hold, a non-refundable nightly pet fee will be charged—$30 for the first night per pet and $20 for each additional night per pet, with a maximum of two pets allowed per room. All nightly pet charges are non-refundable. Pets must be leashed and under control at all times while in common areas. Please note that emotional support animals (ESAs) are subject to the same pet fees and policies. Only service animals, as defined by the ADA, are exempt from these charges.

CREDIT CARD SECURITY
Your credit card information is stored and processed securely.

CANCELLATION
All non-group reservations (1–3 rooms) canceled more than seven days prior to check-in will receive a full refund with no penalty. Cancellations made between 7 days to 72 hours prior to check-in will incur a 50% fee of the total reservation cost; cancellations made within 48 hours will be subject to a 100% fee. No refunds will be issued for cancellations made within 48 hours of check-in or for no-shows. A one-time courtesy date change may be granted for fully paid non-group reservations; if the balance is unpaid, standard cancellation fees apply. Group reservations (4 rooms or event blocks) require a 50% deposit at booking. Cancellations made 14 days or more before check-in will be refunded minus a 20% fee; those made 3 to 14 days prior will incur a 50% fee; cancellations after 72 hours are non-refundable, and no refunds will be granted within 72-24 hours or day of check-in. All cancellations must be submitted in writing or confirmed via phone, and refunds (if applicable) will be processed to the original payment method within 5–7 business days. Third-party bookings (e.g., Booking.com, Expedia) are governed by the respective platform's policies. We are not authorized to alter or override third-party terms; all changes or cancellations must be handled directly through the original booking platform.
